Nexamp starts work on six community solar projects in Illinois – “Results of the highly anticipated Illinois Power Agency Adjustable Block Program Lottery have been announced, and Nexamp was awarded six community solar projects that total 12 MW of generating capacity across the state. Within each of the six projects, Nexamp has committed to make more than 50 percent of the capacity available to individual residential customers, furthering its mission of making energy clean, simple and accessible to everyone. New device achieves record solar hydrogen production – “Researchers have created a smart device capable of producing large amounts of clean hydrogen. By concentrating sunlight, their device uses a smaller amount of the rare, costly materials that are required to produce hydrogen, yet it still maintains a high solar-to-fuel efficiency… The scientists estimate that their system can run for over 30,000 hours — or nearly four years — without any part replacements, and up to 20 years if some parts are replaced every four years. Their solar concentrator turns and follows the sun across the sky in order to maximize its yield.” Source: Science Daily

SFPUC celebrates clean power milestone – With an enrollment of 360,000 businesses and residents, CleanPowerSF, combined with the municipal facilities currently receiving hydroelectricity from the The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s Hetch Hetchy Power System, now meets 80% of San Francisco’s electricity demand. SFPUC is celebrating with a viral “molecule mob,” which will illustrate how CleanPowerSF and Hetch Hetchy power are reducing greenhouse emissions, as participants will be dressed up as carbon busters and molecules. Coalition for Community Solar Access releases 2019 Policy Decision Matrix – “The Coalition for Community Solar Access released the 2019 Community Solar Policy Decision Matrix – designed to lead policymakers through important questions and answers that are associated with passing community solar legislation, developing new programs, and expanding existing programs across the country. Clearway celebrates launch of “Solar for All” community solar garden – Clearway Energy Group has put on line it’s 1 MW Underhill Community Solar Farm, an event celebrated with  a “Solar Farm-to-Table” gathering and gifts of honey from the pollinators located at the site. The Underhill Community Solar Farm is Clearway’s first in Central Hudson Gas & Electric’s service area and will be made available to low and moderate-income subscribers.
