I’m in the real estate development / building industry, so one example from there:

PV solar is still required by code on new construction buildings. Yet, the economics are so poor that I have seen one builder install used panels on a roof, pass final inspection, then remove the hardware for use to pass final on the next project. Installing rooftop solar at this point is viewed by some (including myself) as a simple cost of doing business — an overhead cost. This is especially true with NEM3.0 applying to multifamily in the near future.

I think NEM 3.0 is necessary and the right direction. I get it. But, it’s introducing some short term perverse incentives that aren’t helpful given other regulatory requirements.
